Position Overview
As a Senior Financial Advisor, this role involves a multifaceted approach to client management and business leadership. Approximately 30% of the time is dedicated to serving existing clients, ensuring financial plans and investment portfolios are optimized and aligned with client goals. This includes conducting regular financial planning review meetings, offering tailored investment advice, and staying abreast of market trends to provide timely recommendations. By maintaining strong, trust-based relationships, the advisor ensures client service and satisfaction, while also guiding clients through their evolving financial needs.
The remaining 70% of the time is focused on leading a team of financial advisors and driving business development. This involves mentoring and training associate advisors and fostering a collaborative team environment that promotes continuous learning and professional growth. The Senior Financial Advisor also plays a critical role in strategic planning and executing initiatives to attract new clients and expand the firm's market presence. This includes networking, building partnerships, and leveraging industry insights to develop innovative financial solutions. By balancing client service with leadership and business development, the advisor ensures both the team's success and the firm's growth.
Typical responsibilities include:
Provide personalized financial advice and develop financial planning and investment strategies to help clients achieve their financial goals.
Conduct regular reviews and adjustments of client portfolios based on market conditions and individual objectives.
Stay updated on financial products, market trends, and regulatory changes to deliver informed and relevant advice.
Develop comprehensive financial plans for clients, incorporating retirement, estate planning, and tax optimization strategies.
Lead and mentor a team of financial advisors, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
Train associate advisors and conduct regular evaluations, offering constructive feedback and support.
Drive business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities to expand the firm's client base.
Network and build relationships with potential clients and industry partners to foster business growth.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the firm’s market presence and attract new clients.
Collaborate with marketing, compliance, and other departments to ensure cohesive and compliant business operations.
Typical skills and knowledge requirements:
Advanced Financial Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial planning, financial products, investment strategies, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
Client Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.

Typical experience and education requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA or master’s in finance) or professional certifications (CFP, CFA, CFA) are highly preferred.
8-10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong track record of leading teams, driving business development, and achieving client satisfaction and retention goals.
